Once again this year, a host of wild Trollball teams turned up at the big tournament with their clubs polished to a shine. Among them were well-known trolls such as the Lemon Goblins, Carcosa and the Hello Trollies, but also new teams such as Girls, Girls and a Boy, Ne Fli (or was it Flifle after all?) and Team Biscuit, who stormed onto the pitch with plenty of growling, fighting spirit and, at times, dubious tactics.
In the group stage, it quickly became apparent that Carcosa got off to a strong start, defeating the Lemon Goblins 2:0. The Hello Trollies played out a noisy and evenly matched 1:1 draw against Ne Fli, whilst Girls, Girls and a Boy made their mark with a clear 2:0 victory over Carcosa. They also held their own against the Lemon Goblins, securing a 1:1 draw. Team Biscuit put up a brave fight but were defeated by both the Hello Trollies and Ne Fli.
After the group stage, the semi-finals began, and things got particularly rough once again. The Lemon Goblins managed to beat Team Biscuit 2:0, whilst Carcosa also won 2:0 against Ne Fli. The wild trolls from Girls, Girls and a Boy once again put in a particularly strong performance, triumphing 2:0 against the Hello Trollies. The Trollies’ fan club roared valiantly in protest, but even their shrill shouts couldn’t conjure up any goals.
In the third-place play-off, Ne Fli and the Hello Trollies faced each other once more. Having drawn in the group stage, both teams now battled fiercely for the Trollkin. In the end, the Hello Trollies narrowly prevailed 1:0 to secure third place.
In the grand final, Carcosa and Girls, Girls and a Boy finally faced off. Carcosa were out for revenge following their defeat in the group stage, and indeed, Girls, Girls and a Boy were clearly intimidated by the menacing glares and flying clubs. After a frantic back-and-forth, a very busy healer and enthusiastic stone-throwing from the crowd, the final score was 2:1.
Thus, Carcosa once again won this year’s Trollball tournament in Bacharch, ahead of Girls, Girls and a Boy. The Hello Trollies took third place, followed by Ne Fli, the Lemon Goblins and Team Biscuit. And so ended yet another glorious tournament full of grudges, chaos and sporting achievements – at least as described as such by some of those involved.
Auch in diesem Jahr traten wieder wilde Trollball-Teams mit blankpolierten Keulen zum großen Turnier an. Mit dabei waren bekannte Trolle, wie die Lemon Goblins, Carcosa und die Hello Trollies, aber auch neue Teams wie Girls, Girls and a Boy, Ne Fli (oder war es doch Flifle?)und Team Biscuit, die mit viel Grollen, Kampfgeist und teils zweifelhafter Taktik auf das Spielfeld stürmten.
In der Gruppenphase zeigte sich schnell, dass Carcosa zunächst stark aufspielte und die Lemon Goblins mit 2:0 bezwang. Die Hello Trollies lieferten sich gegen Ne Fli ein lautes und ausgeglichenes 1:1, während Girls, Girls and a Boy mit einem deutlichen 2:0 gegen Carcosa ein erstes Zeichen setzten. Auch gegen die Lemon Goblins blieben sie mit einem 1:1 stabil in Führung. Team Biscuit kämpfte tapfer, musste sich aber sowohl den Hello Trollies als auch Ne Fli geschlagen geben.
Nach der Gruppenphase begann das Halbfinale, hier wurde es noch einmal besonders ruppig. Die Lemon Goblins konnten sich gegen Team Biscuit mit 2:0 durchsetzen, während Carcosa gegen Ne Fli ebenfalls mit 2:0 gewann. Besonders stark zeigten sich erneut die wilden Trolle von Girls, Girls and a Boy, die gegen die Hello Trollies mit 2:0 triumphierten. Der Fanclub der Trollies grollte zwar tapfer dagegen an, konnte aber auch mit schrillem Geschrei keine Tore herbeizaubern.
Im Spiel um den dritten Platz trafen Ne Fli und die Hello Trollies erneut aufeinander. Nachdem beide Teams in der Vorrunde noch unentschieden gespielt hatten, wurde nun mit besonders viel Körpereinsatz um den Trollkin gestritten. Am Ende setzten sich die Hello Trollies knapp mit 1:0 durch und sicherten sich den dritten Platz.
Im großen Finale standen sich schließlich Carcosa und Girls, Girls and a Boy gegenüber. Carcosa wollte die Niederlage aus der Vorrunde rächen und tatsächlich ließen sich Girls, Girls and a Boy von finsteren Blicken und fliegenden Keulen beeindrucken. Nach einem wilden Hin und Her, einer sehr beschäftigten Heilerin und begeistertem Steinewerfen aus dem Publikum stand schließlich ein 2:1 fest.
Damit gewannen Carcosa erneut das diesjährige Trollball-Turnier in Bacharch vor Girls, girls and a boy. Die Hello Trollies belegten den dritten Platz, gefolgt von Ne Fli, den Lemon Goblins und Team Biscuit. So endete ein weiteres ruhmreiches Turnier voller Grollen, Chaos und sportlicher Leistungen, die zumindest von manchen Beteiligten als solche bezeichnet wurden.
