Once the clubs had been sharpened, the Trollkins released and the first spectators had been supplied with stones, the big Trollball tournament was able to get underway once again in 2025. Taking part were the Lemon Goblins, Carcosa, Flifle, the Wolf Pack, Merfolk, the Chill Toads and, of course, the Hello Trollies, who, as always, stood out even before the match began with plenty of noise and questionable elegance.
In the Group A stage, Carcosa showed early on that they were to be taken seriously with their grim determination. Against the Lemon Goblins, they could only manage a 1:1 draw at first, but against Flifle, Carcosa prevailed 3:2. Things got particularly frenzied against the Wolf Pack, who had previously crushed Flifle 5:1 and the Lemon Goblins 3:0. In a chaotic back-and-forth, however, Carcosa ultimately narrowly prevailed 5:4, thereby defeating the previously unbeaten Wolf Pack. The Lemon Goblins at least managed to hold their own with a clear 4:0 victory over Flifle.
In Group B, Merfolk and the Chillkröten battled it out in a hard-fought 1:1 draw, in which there was more grumbling than accurate shooting. Merfolk then defeated the Hello Trollies 2:1, even though their fan club tried everything to improve the result by shouting their heads off. Against the Chillkröten, however, the Trollies had to accept a 0:2 defeat. The Chillkröten thus made a surprisingly strong leap towards the final round.
Things got particularly rough again in the semi-final. The Chillkröten simply swept the Trollkin across the pitch towards the goal, leaving the Merfolk to watch from behind, slowly swinging their clubs. With a two-goal lead, the Chillkröten finally secured their place in the final, which they celebrated with wild shouts. The Wolfsrudel and Carcosa fought a bitter match in which not a single troll gave in willingly, and the healer, faced with the sheer volume of work, probably briefly considered making a run for it. In the end, Carcosa narrowly prevailed and also reached the final.
There, Carcosa – who took to the field with grim calm and astonishingly accurate clubs – faced the Chillkröten, who fought bravely, staggering wildly across the pitch and repeatedly throwing Carcosa off balance. But after a thrilling back-and-forth, the final score was a narrow 4:3 in favour of Carcosa.
Carcosa thus won the 2025 Trollball tournament ahead of the Chillkröten. The Wolf Pack also put in a strong performance, whilst the Hello Trollies, Merfolk, Filfe and the Lemon Goblins at least ensured that the crowd had plenty of reasons to cheer, boo and throw stones. And so ended yet another glorious tournament full of chaos, bruises and sporting feats, which were no doubt recounted in far more heroic terms by those involved afterwards.
Nachdem die Keulen geschärft, die Trollkins freigegeben und die ersten Zuschauerinnen und Zuschauer bereits mit Steinen versorgt waren, konnte auch 2025 wieder das große Trollball-Turnier beginnen. Mit dabei waren die Lemon Goblins, Carcosa, Flifle, das Wolfsrudel, Merfolk, die Chillkröten und natürlich die Hello Trollies, die wie immer schon vor Spielbeginn durch ausreichend Lärm und fragwürdige Eleganz auffielen.
In der Gruppenphase von Gruppe A zeigte Carcosa früh, dass mit düsterer Entschlossenheit zu rechnen war. Gegen die Lemon Goblins reichte es zunächst nur zu einem 1:1, doch gegen Flifle setzte sich Carcosa mit 3:2 durch. Besonders wild wurde es gegen das Wolfsrudel, das zuvor Flifle mit 5:1 und die Lemon Goblins mit 3:0 niedergerungen hatte. In einem chaotischen Schlagabtausch setzte sich am Ende jedoch Carcosa knapp mit 5:4 durch und besiegte damit das bisher ungeschlagene Wolfsrudel. Die Lemon Goblins konnten sich immerhin noch mit einem deutlichen 4:0 gegen Flifle behaupten.
In Gruppe B lieferten sich Merfolk und die Chillkröten ein zähes 1:1, bei dem mehr gegrollt als gezielt wurde. Merfolk besiegte anschließend die Hello Trollies mit 2:1, obwohl deren Fanclub alles versuchte, um das Ergebnis durch Geschrei zu verbessern. Gegen die Chillkröten mussten die Trollies dann jedoch ein 0:2 hinnehmen. Die Chillkröten hüpften damit überraschend stark in Richtung Finalrunde.
Im Halbfinale wurde es noch einmal besonders ruppig. Die Chillkröten fegten den Trollkin nur so über das Feld gen Tor, so dass das Mervolk nur langsam Keulen schwingend hinterherschaute. Mit 2 Toren Vorsprung gelang den Chillkröten nun endgültig der Einzug ins Finale, den sie mit wilden Rufen feierten. Das Wolfsrudel und Carcosa lieferten sich ein erbittertes Match, bei dem kein Troll freiwillig nachgab und die Heilerin bei dem großen Arbeitsaufkommen vermutlich kurz überlegte, zu fliehen. Am Ende setzte sich Carcosa knapp durch und erreichte ebenfalls das Finale.
Dort begegneten sich nun Carcosa, das mit finsterer Ruhe und erstaunlich treffsicheren Keulen antrat und die Chillkrötenm die tapfer kämpften, wild über über das Spielfeld wankten und Carcosa mehrfach ins Wanken brachten. Doch nach einem spannenden Hin und Her stand schließlich ein knappes 4:3 für Carcosa fest.
Damit gewann Carcosa das Trollball-Turnier 2025 vor den Chillkröten. Das Wolfsrudel zeigte ebenfalls eine starke Leistung, während die Hello Trollies, Merfolk, Filfe und die Lemon Goblins zumindest dafür sorgten, dass das Publikum genug Gründe zum Jubeln, Grollen und Steinewerfen hatte. So endete ein weiteres ruhmreiches Turnier voller Chaos, blauer Flecken und sportlicher Leistungen, die von den Beteiligten später sicher deutlich heldenhafter erzählt wurden.
